Very glad we stumbled upon Pappas during a recent stay in New Smyrna Beach. We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite of comfort food. Pappas fit the bill. The dining area is pretty small, but they also have curbside service. I almost did the curbside option, but decided to go inside. We grabbed the only table available in the packed restaurant. Have no great expectations of the interior of this restaurant. It is an older restaurant with table and counter service. Service was attentive and helpful in a packed restaurant. Shortly after our arrival a line formed at the door, but the staff didn't miss a beat. We had the "famous" cheeseburgers which were tasty. The burgers themselves, while listed at a quarter pound, are very thin. The toppings were fresh with thick slices of tomato. Fries were good and the onion rings tasted fresh and homemade. The chili bowl is large and good. Unless you're really itching for chili, a cup would be sufficient. Looking around at other tables, we saw some massive salads. We also saw what looked like a great turkey dinner. The prices were great for what we got. Lunch for two with tip was around $15.00. If I was in the area again, I would give them a second try. Enjoy!

Every Tuesday homemade Chicken and Dumplings or Hot a Turkey Sandwich. Just like Mom used to make.

Old time diner feel with very good service and reasonable prices. The hubby got the Papas big breakfast and all was perfect! Daughter picked the blueberry waffles and loved them! I picked the sausage biscuits and gravy ( very light on the sausage, heavy on the flour).

My family and I have been coming down to New Smyrna beach for the past 20 years, and we always make sure to have breakfast at Pappas a few times. I've tried almost everything on the breakfast menu over the years and everything has been fantastic. This year, I can't get enough of their pecan pancakes. Perfectly moist and buttery pancakes with pecans hidden on the bottom. With syrup it tastes exactly like pecan pie! The staff are always friendly and courteous. Eager to fill your coffee mug as much as you want. Maybe sometimes more than you need, according to my sister. I would recommend Pappas to anyone in the New Smyrna beach area for a quick and delicious breakfast.

We've driven by this drive in several times and thought it looked fun so we finally stopped for a try. The curbside service and the shakes were good but otherwise it was not a great dining experience. French fries were tasteless and soggy. Same with the onion rings. Unfortunately, I've had a better burger at McDonalds. The Junior hamburger was a gray color with no (good) flavor and was noticeably a frozen patty. May try the breakfast in future (that seems to get better reviews) but definitely not for burgers and fries. To be fair, my husband did like his Reuben sandwich but when I go to a drive in, I expect to have a decent burger. This did not live up to expectations.

Huge, huge menu. Liked the fact that they have curb service but the food was so so. I had the gyro - very underwhelmed. Way too much very thin sauce - meat was flavorless - tasted and felt like it had been frozen. Obviously had come to me direct from the microwave as everything but the sauce was pipping hot. My friend had a bacon cheeseburger (hold the cheese) and it was huge and she liked it but couldn't finish it. Ordered small order of onion rings and it was a generous portion but 90% breading. Curb service server was very nice. Overall - won't go back. Wish we'd gone to DQ instead.

A favorite in New Smyrna Beach! Very affordable and most importantly yummy! The service is always great! We had the cheese sticks, the scallop basket and the shrimp basket. Everything was delicious. Definitely recommended!

Never got to try the food. My wife and I came in for breakfast. After we sat the waitress came to wipe the table, when she picked up the napkin dispenser and set it back down, two very fast roaches ran out of it and the waitress killed them on our table with a napkin. We got up and walked out without saying a word.

I've had breakfast here a few times so my review has to be considered only for the breakfast menu, which they do serve all day. Fast, friendly service is the first outstanding part of this family establishment. The food is tasty, fresh, and cooked to order. The prices are great too. The specials are HUGE and run around $6. A+ for this mom and pop joint.

We loved this local diner. The wait staff are old fashioned and to the point...which adds to the charm. Hope and pray they peanut butter pie in stock when you go. I had the Philly which was very good.

Great breakfast, but had to bump them down one star for not having half and half or Splenda for my coffee. Cute place with fast service.

I'm a big fan of diner food and this place is a classic of its kind. Come here with expectations set appropriately and you'll be well satisfied. Rather than get a burger and fries I decided to take advantage of the full menu offered at this establishment--which on this occasion meant taking a risk on one of their Italian dinners. The spaghetti and meatballs is quite good, the sauce above average, and everything arrived in a flash. The side salad that came with the dinner was just a plate of iceberg lettuce and a few tomato slices, so that's not too impressive, but also no surprise. This is 3-star food (as expected) but with 4-star "diner style" service--3.5 would be my rating if Yelp would catch up on that. I'll be back for my burger sometime soon. Call ahead with your order and get curbside delivery (on the right side of the building) or just drive up (on the same side) and the server will take your order, very old school, very cool.

Ate breakfast here and had 2 eggs over easy with a huge portion of extra crispy hash browns. Both made exactly the way I asked them to be prepared. Coffee hit the spot on this early morning and got a toasted bagel with cream cheese to go. Friendly staff. I met the owner- what a great guy who works hard and tries to run a terrific restaurant. I love the choice of being able to eat curb side or inside at a counter stool or regular table. I love to try out places like this that have been in business a long time... Since 1970! I will try this place for lunch before we finish our vacation.

The service here is very good! The omelets are pretty tasty too, and the prices are very reasonable. There's nothing fancy or epic about the place ... Just good food and friendly service for a nice price.

Cute little old fashioned drive-in restaurant where they take your order right at your window. I like coming here after a day at the beach. I always get whatever fish special they have (flounder, grouper, mahi, etc). It comes with 2 sides. Your choices are cole slaw, vegetable, or applesauce. It also comes with a roll with butter. Very filling and huge portions. The prices are fantastic for the specials. The fish is always freshly made and very, very delicious!

Had curbside service. Young waitress asked me what I wanted before I received a menu. Ordered their famous hamburger and a diet coke. The diet coke tasted very off and I was very disappointed in the taste of my hamburger. Will not go back. One pro: hamburger was wrapped very neatly in it's wrapper.

Decent drive-in near the beach. We had car service and as other reviewers wrote, the waitresses assume you were here before and don't bring out menus unless you ask for them. This is a burger joint so don't expect fancy. The food is good and hot and what you would expect from a drive-in.

It's OK. "Famous" burgers probably was a frozen patty. Belgian Waffle for $5.95 was WAY overpriced. Very small cramped dining room. I though it was going to have some Greek food with the name Pappas. Not so.
